We can take action at the Channel, individual message, comments, and account levels, and sometimes employ a combination of these enforcement actions. In some instances, this is because the behavior violates the
Pushee Rules. Other times, it may be in response to a valid and properly scoped request from an authorized entity. Below are a range of enforcement options that we may exercise when conducting a review.
We take action at the Pushee message level to ensure that we are not being overly harsh with an otherwise healthy account that made a mistake and violated our Rules. A few of the ways in which we might take action at the message level include:
Limiting message visibility: This makes content less visible on Pushee. Limiting message visibility depends on a number of factors about the nature of the interaction and the quality of the content.
Requiring message deletion: When we determine that a message violated the Pushee Rules, we may block the message from view, replacing the content of the message with an announcement of a Pushee Rules violation. We send an email notification to the violator identifying the message(s) in violation and which policies have been violated. They will then need to delete the message OR go through the process of appealing our review if they believe we made an error. Accounts that routinely violate the Pushee Rules may be restricted from posting new messages or have their account(s) deleted.
If the rule violation is related to the inappropriate use of a Channel avatar, name, description or background image, Pushee may “Hide” the Channel, making the Channel invisible to all other Pushee users, including current members of the Channel until the violating content has been replaced with content conforming to the Pushee Rules. Violations which are not corrected in a timely fashion can result in the Channel(s) in question being permanently deleted.
Stopping conversations between a reported violator and the reporter’s account: In a conversation taking place within the message comment feature, the Channel owner who Pushed the message can block the violator from using the comment feature within their Channel. This is accomplished by opening a comment thread with the violator and de-selecting "Enable Comments" below the violator's name/avatar. Once blocked the commenting feature for this specific Channel will appear to be turned off to the blocked user.
(Note: In addition to blocking individual members, Channel settings allow thedisabling of comments for the entire Channel.)
We take action at the account level if we determine that a person has violated the Pushee Rules in a particularly egregious way, or has repeatedly violated them even after receiving notifications from us.
Requiring media or profile edits: If an account’s profile or media content is not compliant with our policies, we may make it temporarily unavailable and require that the violator edit the media or information in their profile to come into compliance.
Verifying account ownership: To ensure that violators do not abuse the anonymity we offer we may require the account owner to verify ownership with a phone number or a verified email address (or both). This also helps us identify violators who are operating multiple accounts for abusive purposes and take action on such accounts.
Permanent suspension: This is our most severe enforcement action. Permanently suspending an account will remove it from the Service and the violator will not be allowed to create new accounts.
Violators can appeal permanent suspensions if they believe we made an error.
